DESCRIPTIONOnly 5 km from the historic Etruscan town of Volterra, in important touristic site in Tuscany with excellent infrastructure you find this architectonic jewel: a typical ancient Tuscan farmhouse, completely built in natural stone. On the groundfloor there are rare ceilings made of cross vaults in half sized bricks ("mezzane"), just like they can be found in many medieval churches. The roof has come down and has hit a small part of the vaults, but most of them are in a very good state. The perimeter walls are in good shape, they can easily be restored and enforced. Only the southern part of the building has come down, where it was raised to three levels. This part can be rebuilt completely to the old size. The view from here is 360 degree panoramic view, to Volterra on the east side and towards the coast on the other. On clear days one should be able to see the seaside between the hills in the west. The access is quite good, there is only 1600 m of "white road" until the start of the asphalted road, this piece of road will be maintained together with a neighbour who is right now rebuilding a ruin about four hundred meters away (see "electricity" photo below). So in this property you will have all the tranquillity you want, but you will not be completely isolated. Water has already been brought right to the house, electricity is in the vicinity (about 200m), serving this and the neighbouring property. The plot of land of about 6000 sqm is sufficiently large to create a nice shady garden or park and to build a pool, but you may buy more land if you want to. Though in plain countryside, it takes just 10 minutes to reach the center of Volterra, its shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants, cinema, theater and the public indoor swimming pool with its fitness center. Pisa airport can be reached within an hours drive and the beaches of Cecina Mare within 45 minutes.
